this is beautiful . . . in so many ways, my boys are in two worlds, sometimes boys and sometimes young men . . . It is always a struggle to balance our creativity and mothering, but you are so right: each make the other better.

I'm so grateful for your kind words and encouragement--- thank you. Seriously. (Pregnancy brain simply has me replying a whole month later!) And young men?! What a balance! The two things really do make the other sweeter, like you said.

This is such a beautiful piece. 🩷 The first month after my second baby was born was INCREDIBLY generative for me, so I hope that encourages you! Scribble in your journal while you hold your baby with the other arm. Type while that babe sleeps on your chest. Capture the ideas and the creativity and the power that comes with all the oxytocin and the high that comes after the experience of bringing a new life into your family. It’s like nothing else. Cheering you on!!

I am over a month late to reply--- hello pregnancy brain.

Jenna, thank you for taking the time to type this. It has been such an encouragement and gift for me to read within the fear and my anxiety of the unknown. I can envision this scene as I sit here on my couch late at night. Thanks for cheering me on and shedding light on what I have to look forward to in the season ahead!

Beautiful! So much of life, I think, is the in between, and it’s good to recognize rather than wish for what’s ahead or long for what’s behind. 💗

Living in the right now is so so hard for me. Always have. Creating helps me to do that, recognize rather than wish for the future. Thanks for taking the time to read Joy!
